These may include anxiety, phobias, depression, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, tantrums, sleep and eating issues, and more. We use only proven approaches such as Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Therapies, Emotion-Coaching, and Parent Management Training. We can treat a diverse range of phobias. Please find a few examples below:
At MindBox Psychology, we take a structured, child-centred approach to therapy that focuses on each child’s unique developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs. We design personalised treatment plans using evidence-based therapies and ensure our process is collaborative, involving both the child and their caregivers at every step.
COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT
We begin with a detailed assessment to gain a full understanding of your child’s needs, strengths, and areas of difficulty. This may include clinical interviews, standardised questionnaires, and behavioural observations. Where appropriate, we also liaise with teachers, GPs, paediatricians, and other professionals involved in your child’s care to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding.
PERSONALISED THERAPY PLANS
Our Psychologists develop tailored therapy plans using a range of evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Behavioural Therapy, and Parent Management Training (PMT). These therapies are selected to match your child’s specific goals, age, and developmental level.
CHILD-FRIENDLY THERAPY SESSIONS
Therapy sessions are delivered using age-appropriate and engaging techniques, including play-based methods, visual supports, games, and interactive activities. This helps children feel safe, understood, and motivated to participate, making therapy both effective and enjoyable.
COLLABORATIVE PARENT GUIDANCE
We recognise the essential role of caregivers in a child’s progress. Our psychologists regularly meet with parents to provide feedback, teach practical parenting strategies, and ensure consistency between home and therapy settings. In some cases, parent-only sessions may be incorporated into the plan to address broader parenting goals or support behavioural strategies at home.
PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION
When helpful, we collaborate with other professionals, such as school counsellors, learning support staff, paediatricians, and speech or occupational therapists. Thi ensures continuity of care and allows for a coordinated, team-based approach to supporting your child.
ONGOING SUPPORT
We monitor your child’s progress closely throughout treatment, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure continued effectiveness. Once therapy concludes, we offer follow-up sessions or booster appointments as required, helping families maintain gains and troubleshoot new challenges that may arise.
MEDICARE REBATES
Our services attract Medicare rebates when accessed through a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), helping to reduce out-of-pocket costs for families.
In addition to traditional therapy, we offer specialised programs designed to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development. These programs are tailored to each child’s needs and help foster important life skills.

The world-renowned Tuning in to Kids® online parenting program helps parents learn emotionally responsive parenting strategies that support their child's emotional development. Through evidence-based techniques, parents are guided to recognise, understand, and respond to their child’s emotions in ways that build emotional intelligence, strengthen the parent–child connection, and promote better emotional regulation and social skills. Click here to find out more about our workshops.

These evidence-based strategies, integrated into treatment sessions, are designed to strengthen the parent–child relationship. As the bond between parent and child grows, families often see a range of positive outcomes, including improved cooperation with parental instructions, increased confidence and self-esteem in the child, and enhanced language development.
Our Psychologists are highly qualified with Masters or Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology. They use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the gold standard for many psychological issues, along with other evidence-based treatments like Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
