All About Me

Mimi is a warm, compassionate Clinical Psychology Registrar who works with clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem challenges, and complex life transitions or those who feel stuck or overwhelmed. Mimi offers a non-judgmental, curious space to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and broader life patterns.

She tailors treatment to each person’s needs, drawing on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT),  and Schema Therapy.  Through a strengths-based, transdiagnostic approach, Mimi supports clients in building on their inherent strengths, increasing self-awareness and learning to trust their inner voice, and developing ways to navigate challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.

Mimi works with a broad range of concerns covering the lifespan, including:

  • Anxiety disorders, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive concerns
  • Depression and low mood
  • Bipolar Disorders
  • Stress, burnout, perfectionism and procrastination
  • Emotional dysregulation, and distress tolerance
  • Relational difficulties, attachment patterns, and communication issues
  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism
  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Neurodevelopmental support, including ADHD

Mimi has a Master of Clinical Psychology with  experience across hospital settings, private practice, and group facilitation. She has delivered both individual therapy and evidence-based group programs (such as CBT and DBT skills groups).

Before private practice, Mimi trained and volunteered with Lifeline, providing crisis support and safety planning.

Her clinical practice is also enhanced by a diverse background spanning legal services, yoga, and the creative arts, and Mimi brings a grounded, mature perspective and a broad appreciation for the different paths, interests, and life experiences her clients bring into the therapy room.

Mimi speaks Afrikaans fluently and welcomes clients who would prefer to speak Afrikaans.

MY FAVOURITE COLOUR

It’s hard to choose a favourite colour, but if I had to choose one, it would be aqua.

WHY I'M IN THIS LINE OF
WORK

I chose this line of work as I find it deeply meaningful and rewarding. It is a genuine privilege to support others in building self-belief, discovering their strengths, and making positive, lasting changes.

ONE THING NOT MANY
PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT ME

I enjoy true crime and history. I love learning why people do what they do, which probably explains my career choice!
