Tuning in to Kids™ is an evidence-based parenting program developed by researchers at the University of Melbourne. It is grounded in emotional coaching principles and supported by extensive research demonstrating its effectiveness in improving children’s emotional competence and behaviour. At MindBox Psychology, the Tuning in to Kids™ program is delivered by accredited facilitator Monique Shipp, who has completed specialised training to deliver the framework with fidelity to its original design. We also have accredited facilitators within the team, including Jelena Arambasic for Tuning in to Kids™ and Rosy Lloyd for Tuning in to Teens™. While sessions are guided by the facilitator and tailored to families’ real-life experiences, the content and structure are based on the original model developed by its creators.

Why Emotional Intelligence Matters

Emotional intelligence is key to a child’s ability to manage emotions, build relationships, and cope with challenges. Research shows that children with strong emotional skills are more likely to experience positive social, academic, and behavioural outcomes.
