Joe Walkden

Joe is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with experience across private and public health, corporate mental health, community settings, and crisis intervention. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours, First Class) from UNSW and a Master of Clinical Psychology from UTS.

Joe is an empathetic and genuine psychologist who believes therapy should be a collaborative and personalised process. He takes the time to understand his clients’ values, background, and goals, ensuring that treatment is meaningful and tailored to their unique needs. His therapeutic approach is thoughtful, non-judgemental and person-centred, integrating evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.

Joe works with a broad range of concerns, including:

Anxiety (generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD)
Depression
Trauma and PTSD
Stress and burnout
Emotional dysregulation
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
Grief and loss

He also has a particular interest in addiction in all its forms, including both substance use disorders and behavioural addictions.
