Performance / Academic Anxiety in Children

Children with performance/academic anxiety experience excessive and paralysing worry about school, athletic or artistic performance. These children may experience the “freeze response”, where their mind goes blank and they cannot complete the task at hand. This can appear to be due to distraction, laziness or a lack of preparation and can be confused with symptoms of attention disorder like ADHD.

If you would like to find out more about our treatment for Performance and Academic Anxiety, or to book an appointment with one of our child clinical psychologists who provides treatment for these conditions, please make an enquiry or call the clinic on 02 9438 2511.
