Pain Disorder (e.g., headaches)

Pain disorder in children is characterised by the occurrence of a physical complaint/s (e.g., headaches, leg pain, stomach cramps), where: (i) appropriate medical evaluation reveals no explanatory physical pathology, or when pathology is present; (ii) the physical complaints or resulting impairment are in excess of what would be expected from the physical findings; and (iii) the pain is not intentionally produced or better accounted for by some other psychological disorder, such as a mood, anxiety or psychotic disorder.
